I know nothing about running and what's available in Abilene. But, there is a website:

I'm sure it will help. There might be some contacts on it for additional information. I will tell you that Abilene Christian University is well known for having one of the best track and field programs in the US. BTW, we moved here a year ago from out of state and love it!

I'm in college in Abilene and participate in triathlon. There really isn't much that happens in Abilene. There is an annual canoe, mtn bike, trail run that Abilene Christian University puts on but it isn't sanctioned by USAT. Fort Worth and Dallas (where I am from) has a lot more to offer and is only 2.5 - 3 hours away. Same with Austin. Good luck!
