Edinburg texas young white female (Houston, Huntsville: apartment, home, to buy)

My Daughter is 22yo. She received a full Schollership to Sam Houston State University for criminal justice. While working part time as a waitress, she meets this cook from Edinburg Texas. He is Mexican American with Bipolar/ phsycosis. He has now talked my daughter into moving to Edinburg Tx with him. She has quit College and is now a waitress fulltime. He is living in her apartment & while she works, he is out hustling drugs in her car. He has told her how beautiful Edinburg is, & she will be able to get a great job there & they will live happily ever after. This has devistated my family and she will not listen to us. She only defends him. He recently was released from prison in January 1yo He was convicted of sexual assult etc.. We believe he has her on some type of drug. Can anyone tell me anything about Edinburg Texas? Can you tell me if this is the place for my beautiful, intelligent, white daughter to be? Help me save my daughter???

Doesn't sound like your daughter is as intelligent as you claim.
This situation is insanity. Her boyfriend is obviously very bad news. What is she thinking? If she goes through with this, I'll bet it will not end well. What does she see in this piece of human debris?
And if you know for certain that this guy is dealing drugs, why aren't you contacting local law enforcement so maybe he will get caught and arrested. Wouldn't that make more sense than posting this to an internet forum???
If she is not listening to you, I don't know what to say. Maybe she will see the light after a short time in Edinburgh, and be able to come home without any hassle. Let's hope.

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT allow this to happen! Hire someone to kidnap her and bring her home, if need be. If psycho-criminal is from there, and he succeeds in moving your daughter there, no telling what horrors your daughter will suffer. I'm sure he has his network of similarly sick and drug-dealing familia in Edinburg and she will be at their mercy, not knowing the area and being a minority there.

Good God, what is WRONG with your girl? Is she engaging in the ultimate rebellion, or what? Foolish, foolish girl and it will cost her BIG if you are unable to seriously intervene.

Well, im from Huntsville, and I have delt with many criminals in the TDCJ system and I can tell you he has con gamed her into a mess. She more than likely is addicted to some sort of drug he is providing her with, sorry to say that, but it's obvious. Edinburg is a dump in my opinion. The good thing is that if she is in Huntsville you could easily go find a good looking redneck to whip his tail, and take her from him....no fair play is going to work unless you can incriminate this guy on some serious bust, or charge. The problem is that the local officials in East Texas don't give a you know what about a typical drug call. It's far to wide spread, and would take too much time, unless you can commingle with them and befriend them. Another option is a 50cal with a long range thermal scope....that will do the trick.

I, too, have worked in the prison systems for many years, including TDCJ...She has fallen into the con game. NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING, good will come out of this situation, if she proceeds with her "plans". I would be afraid for her life, for many reasons-the boyfriend, the drugs, the area. Does she know that if she is living with him and there are drugs in the house, SHE can be charged with possession? She is wasting her life away if she makes this decision. I have to say, if she is determined, tough love. Don't enable her in any way. God, do I pray for her that she comes to her senses.

^^^ This is true. It all boils down to her choices and/or addiction, and I don't think you'll find the answers you need in a relocation forum. There are other better resources out there if you look for them.

I noticed it and agree with it. As a blonde white woman who used to live in the Valley, you can't imagine how disgusting many of the men behaved toward me. OMG, I even had salesmen from the car dealership and furniture stores where I made purchases using my personal info to call me and proposition me. One of them even showed up at my home one night!

I had to make it a point NOT to buy any big ticket item or anything that needed to be delivered from a Hispanic salesman because they abused my customer information. Sorry, but pointing out something that really happens and warning people about it isn't racism. And if you don't like the fact that these things happen to white women in the Valley, by all means lead the charge for change.
