The new I-69 out in east texas is a ways off but I don't see u.s.69 remaining out in Lufkin after I-69 is built(too much confusion).The only other way to deal with the confusion is to reroute u.s.75 onto the current u.s.69 all the way down to port arthur,the good news is that I-75 doesn't come anywhere near texas!Some of you are wondering,"well what's going to happen with u.s.75 from the oklahoma border to downtown dallas"?I-45 has alot more potential, so extend it up to the oklahoma line and let oklahoma improve the remaining stretches of road to tulsa.My actual proposal for I-45 is for it to end up in omaha,nebraska by way of topeka,ks,that's another topic for another day!As far as i'm concerned,u.s.69 could be re routed onto old u.s.66 to okie city.U.S.75 could go all the way back down to the gulf coast and can be known as border (canada)to border(gulf coast) highway once again.

I-45 would definitely work to Tulsa and possibly Kansas City at the furthest. U.S. 75 does not need a new route, but rather, recategorization if brought to interstate criteria. And that's a big if at this time. The Oklahoma portions don't need changing even if a new road does get built, which, honestly, I'd love to see. And I-69 will be just fine when built; U.S. 69 does not need any rerouting, even if Lufkin has that weird (and rare) situation. And don't you dare touch old Route 66.

Te Oklahoma D.O.T. has to put in a new interchange at the choctaw casino signal light and then checotah and svavna need to be bypassed.Once that is done then you can work your up to Tulsa,Topeka and Omaha. I truly believe that u.s.69s days in texas sre numbered with the new I-69 coming into the picture.U.S.75 isn't a bad idea at all.Lets face it I-45 will eventually go north of dallas and u.s.75 will be a memory for d/fw.Please don't have a heart attack with the rerouting of OLD u.s.66,it is now OKLAHOMA ROUTE 66,u.s.66 was done away with in 1985!Old u.s.66 is route 53 in parts of suburban chicago,oh yeah the interstate system replaced u.s.66 in case you didn't know that.

I'm very much aware of I-40, I-44, I-55, I-15, and I-10 replacing much of the old "Mother Road". And OK Highway 66 is not a bad drive, either. And I've even driven on old 66 in Amarillo, too. Great history.

I've seen the Choctaw Bingo area. Yes, they'll have to bypass that, and Calera, and build a new alignment down to Colbert. At least, I suggest that. In Texas, the Sherman-Denison stretch works fine, though there is construction in South Sherman. They'll have to rebuild U.S. 75 between McKinney and Sherman, hopefully to corridor standards. I would support a new alignment between Atoka and Henryetta, Okla without using U.S. 69. It can be done, but it will take money, and you'd have to hope ODOT doesn't make it a toll road. And U.S. 69 in Texas?? I doubt its days are numbered, and they won't bring back U.S. 75. Could they put in a new number?? Possibly, but I don't foresee any changes. Not yet, anyway. I'm sure TXDOT is keenly aware of the Lufkin 69/69 exchange. That doesn't mean they won't stand pat, either.
