The only thing I don't like about Abilene is that it's easy to get lost in, but I'm just not familiar enough with it. Lubbock isn't a bad place to visit. Just hold on to your hat! It's windy much of the time.

Check out Texas Highways: The Official Travel Magazine of Texas and make up your own road trip through West Texas! Be sure to check out the events calendar for the time you'll be there for special events/goings on.

Expect the unexpected when it comes to West Texas weather. It will probably be upper 50's to lower 60's, but it could be anything from 20 with blizzard conditions to 80 and possibly stormy.

Probably 70s but it will be a roller coaster cuz that's the way it is here! It actually snowed on Easter two years ago! Not a lot of snow, but still. Of course, the next day it warmed right up and the snow was gone by mid-morning! Pack so you can dress in layers!

I know I owe you an email, Eliza. I'm on it, LOL.

You're very right about this. When I first moved here, it drove me NUTS trying to figure out what divided the north and south "number" streets. (Turns out it's the railroad tracks!) Also, some of the tree streets are found on one side of the tracks but not on the other side.

I've been here for more than 2 years now and just discovered that Sayles Blvd. becomes Buffalo Gap Road. Heh.
