Why don't we ask all the dead Texas Veterans who fought and died for our country?

No, Texas is not going to secede. It's just seems to be a good idea. The part I don't get is where you say 'I hope they do', then say 'and asks for government handouts'. Uhhhh, if Texas were to/did secede how would they ask for government handouts? Sounds, well... ridiculous.
Wtf WHY IS IT A GOOD IDEA? What would you gain by seceding?!?!

I don't understand you people.

I don't agree with Texas seceding, but please, just keep to the Georgia forum and stop trying to instigate fights.

To put it in few words, Texas has more money than most states in the US.
By seceding, it would make the average Texan richer and people in poor states in the US would become poorer.
In other words, Texans wouldn't have to pay anymore federal taxes to "feed" poorer states and Texas would make a lot of money by selling oil to the US.

I'm neutral about it,
but I guarantee that it won't happen as long as the US army is one of the most powerful armies in the World.

There's another problem,
if Texas become richer, then immigrants would rather go to Texas than the US.

TXLara is on a distinguished road
Hawaii wants to secede too. I think it's a load of crap. Who would any of these states come to first when other countries swoop in to claim them? "Oops! Sorry we messed up! Can we just pretend this didn't happen....again?"

Help me to understand this "Texas has more money" statement. Texas ranks 9th in poverty with only a small percentage higher than the most impoverished state, Mississippi, and 1st for people without health insurance followed by Florida and New Mexico. It ranks 29th in median income. I'm not trying to be a wise cracker, but I don't get how it could be both.
