Socialism will not work it has already been proven too many times. Globalization will destroy this country and that is where Barrack Hussein Obama is headed. No wonder Texas and lots of other states are willing to secede instead of being destroyed by this Obamanation.

Religion, it seems,is something no one wants to here when it comes to the Socialist, but eventually you will have to face Jesus someday, we all will. When someone calls someone a fanatic it is usually because they do not believe in it, do not understand it,or are afraid of the truth.

You have to consider who ran against Perry both times......an ultra-liberal democrat in 2002 (Tony Sanchez) and a combination of weirdos and liberals in 2006.

He was the lesser of the evils, and if I had to do it all over again, I'd vote for him against all the others who ran...again.

Speaking of dumb lots,bluescreen73 seems to be having a problem himself, mentally. We have the most pro-gun Governor and we do not have a state income tax like New Mexico and we are still more stable than any of the Socialist states such as yours. Jealousy shines all over you. I'll pray for you as well.

Jealousy shines all over me?

I'm a native Texan who MOVED from a lifetime in Texas (55 years) to NM of my own free will, so don't feel sorry for me!

NM has a state income tax, yes, but my property tax is less on a house of roughly the same size, valuation almost twice what it was in Texas, and my homeowner's insurance (same company, similar coverage) is half of what it was in Texas. I'm also retired, so.....the cost of living here is cheaper than Texas. The state income tax is minimal, since my income still comes from TX.

But having said that, I could do without our liberal governor....Richardson can't serve another term, so I guess we will see what pops up this next election.

You also have to remember that in 2008, Texas was just barely red.

That's not a good sign at all. NM went blue, but I live in a very red county!

If Texas does secede (not gonna happen) you'll see an income tax...I guarantee it. Why? Even though Texas only receives 88-90% of the revenue it sends to DC, the state still relies on that money. Once the state (doesn't) secede, that funding mechanism disappears. The "country" WILL raise taxes to recoup the money.

Our governor is pro-gun...so what? He's also a corporatist who'd sell his wife if he could.

You forget we have a lottery which makes up the difference in any state income tax, because the citizens give to that freely. Yes some things are higher and some things are lower we all have that situation but like I said before Texas will secede someday and will not be by itself when it does and those states will combine under the original Consitution not the living one that they seem to be making up as they go. Evidently bluescreen73 you have something personal with Governor Perry that is alright because we all have a right to an opinion. But you need to study up on all the other states and you will find out that there is more than Texas wanting to secede. If we do not do it soon we will soon be ruled by the United Nations and you definitely will not have any rights whatsoever.

Keep deluding yourself. That's your prerogative. The other 20,000,000 of us will continue to live in reality. I don't have anything personal with Rick Perry; I'm in the 61% who believe he's a snake in the grass. Remember, if it had been a 2-person race in 2006 slick Rick likely would have lost. It matters not, though, because Kay Bailey hasn't even declared her intention to run and she's already ahead of him in the polls. Perry won't see another term in Austin.

I have no problem with that as long as she is pro gun and willing to go up against Barrack Hussein Obama the Annointed One. As far as reality, I live in it, but you still need to check the other states and you will find out for your self. Like I said I vote for the person not anything else. But if she has no guts to stand up against Barrack Hussein Obama she will never win. You might want to study up on that as well.
