Sandy Springs Rep., after reading Jrsgun's followup post, I must say there's no doubt that you are correct. Everyone else is wrong according to him and he is right...far right. Name-calling ("radical")! For shame.

The oath for the regular military forces does not mention Texas (or any other state).
The oath for the Texas National Guard does mention Texas, but not the Texas constitution.
BTW, both oaths say "I will obey the orders of the President of the United States." It doesn't let you choose which President you will obey.

Having listend to almost all of his speeches, I can't say it's a fact because anything said is just an opinion but yes, It's my opinion that McCain would have provided the same Bush policy. The fact that he voted with Bush in just about everything didn't help.

So, then you would only fly the U.S. Flag on Memorial and Veteran's Day? How about Independence and Flag Days? Honoring our military, both those who died, served, or serving is VERY important. However, God and Country are higher ideals that our military defends and are subordinate to.

Well, I just hope some of these secede cooks aren't the same people who like to toss around words like "unpatriotic" and "unamerican" at people who may have a point of view they don't like.
You secede cooks had better be careful what you wish for, because who's to say that in the long run you'll like what you get with seceding. Contrary to popular belief, most the major metro ares here are blue, and it's not all because of transplants from other states.
Let's just say Texas did secede (and I know this ain't gonna happen, but just for the sake of this topic, let's say it did). I'll assume we'll get to elect who we want to be our leader. I'll also assume we'll have representatives for each area of the state as well. Tell me something: what if the majority of the people of Texas elect leaders you can't stand? What would you (you being the "OMG Socialsum LiberASZ!!!") people do then?
Maybe secede again? Split the sta...., I'm sorry, nation into halves, and if that didn't work, keep splitting the nation up as many times as possible until you get your perfect little utopia?
That's really what a lot of this is all about. A certain percentage of people not getting their way, so they act like a spoiled little kid in the toy isle of a store when mommy or daddy won't buy them a new toy with this secede nonsense.
Personally, I enjoy being an American first, Texan second.
Maybe you secede people can all chip in to some sort of collection fund, then buy a small island somewhere when you have the money. I'm sure Texas and America would be much better off if that were to happen.

Seems like some crazy leftist is spewing their crap again, go figure. Perry's secession talk should have been taken as a joke. Unfortunately, with these whack jobs, anything interpreted to be insults to their savior (Obama) must be met with harsh words. I'm not a fan of Perry, but between him and the Democrats, I'll take his side. As far as the Utopia you speak of, it would be a place without people like you getting in my face broadcasting their love for Obama.

I do not think these leftist get it yet. Texas is not the only state that is wanting to secede Montana, Alaska and many more. Like I said before, you can talk bad about me all you want to, but I am a fighter and I will never give up as long as there is a chance to defeat your leftist Socialist ideas & onslaughts. Your Savior Barack Hussein Obama is a Socialist who can not even express anything in his own words without a teleprompter, hell he is lost without it and we have proved that too many times. Hell even on his latest speech he was lost without it.
So roll up your sleeves, the battle begins.
God Bless Texas & The Military,Law Enforcement and anyone else who are willing to fight for our Freedoms,Liberties & The Constitution.
The Military takes the oath to protect the U.S. Constitution if someone tries to destroy it, not the President or any part of the Government.
