dont forget Killeen, home of Ft Hood, the largest military installation in the world. very diverse...and great for jobs-somewhat insulated from the economic recession due to the military.

I'd say the Golden Triangle area....(Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange). I could be wrong, but it seems to be the most interracialy acceptive area in Texas. Kind of the likes of the Louisiana cities, but some may disagree. All the other Texas cities such as Houston, DFW, San Antonio, and Austin are ok as well though.

There's a decent # of bi-racial people in the cities of Beaumont and Port Arthur. I'll give you that. However when it comes to all the dozen or so small bedroom/suburb towns in the area... Let me just say if they are indeed accepting, they haven't convinced very many non-whites to move into these towns. Just look at census numbers. The overall area is more deeply segregated than I've ever seen anywhere in this state. The bad reputation in the area is not completely deserved, but I believe it's there for a reason. Many thoughts & ideas there seem to be 20-30 years behind those in Houston or DFW.

I agree. Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Austin tend to be the most progressive areas in that aspect. Cities along the coast are okay as well.

San Antonio by far is the most open to interracial then any other city in Texas. Because of the strong military presence in the city interracial couples have been a common site since the 60's
