so we're supposed to believe you just because YOU say you took the photo.

I can play that too....

I'm the one who took the photo. It's actually an area off telephone but i thought it would be cool to add the shot of the williams tower in the background. I also put in the Lazy Hollow street sign so it would be more convincing we were closer to the area in the Williams Tower.

There, now it can be laid to rest!!!

Unhappy Why?

Retract what I had written here. Would not help anything. But I enjoyed Houston for 20 years. Never saw telephone poles that looked like they were 5 feet apart?

Houston's Montrose/Museum District is not just much more urban, cultured, walkable, and liveable than any area in Dallas, it is more so than any area in the entire Southern United States. Houston and Dallas are both great cities. They are different however. Houston is at the center of the metro area, while Dallas shares its metro with Fort Worth and is at the very edge of the metro area. So why does Houston feel more urban than Dallas? Because it is.

That being said, northward from Dallas, through the Midwest all the way up to Canada, no other city rivals it. Chicago of course is not in that equation.

Than any area in the Southern United States? That's a BIG stretch, unless you're just want to leave out New Orleans and Miami.

Based on these pictures vs. the ones of Dallas posted above, maybe Houston feels more urban because it is less sanitized and has more grit?

I admit, houston does seem more urban and in a good way. the lack of zoning does make it more interesting and creative. the international flair is a breath of fresh air and probably lends a spark and ambiance to the place. i've been in places that looked neater but felt dead, too strict, monotonous or suffocating.

houston seems avant garde for real. wow, nice to know there are a few places like that in america.
