Default Texans Help!!!

Hello everyone,
I am thinking about moving out to texas, I Live in New England and it's alright, I really hate snow. I like to fish and shoot my guns, love country music, have a truck with camo seats covers on them, and I ride horses. All the people i met from texas say the place they live is the best, my question is what is the best place to live with the information given? I would like to live close to the city but still have property.

East or Central Texas.....
If you live in East Texas you are about 1 hour from the DFW metroplex.
If you live in Central Texas you are somewhere near either Austin or San Antonio.
All are great locations...especially if you have to work.

Both of the above suggestions are good, especially if you hunt and fish. Some of the towns South East of San Antonio might work too. All of the areas are great for horses and riding as well.

North of DFW is nice, too. North Texas to me feels more open than the area around SA/Austin, and it's got some beautiful lakes. Of course, Dallas is crawling north, so in a few years it may not be so rural/cheap.

Right side of DFW would be ideal.

all the counties between Ft Worth and Wichita Falls:
(Wise/Parker/Jack/Montague/Clay/Archer/Young/Palo Pinto

counties north/northwest of Austin:
Mills, Coryell, Lampasas, Bell, San Saba, Burnet

counties surrounding Abilene or Amarillo

there is just to much to even mention, as Texas is a BIG state

can help you further if I know more details-do you need to work? if so, what kind of work? what kind of geography are you looking for? climate?

good hunting and fishing in MANY areas of Texas. but warm year round? well, i guess you would have to go to waaaay South Texas. but heck, i lived in South Texas for 1 hellish year and it got freezing cold spells there too in the winter, though short lived.
what do you mean by warm? like 70s-80s year round? never a cold spell?
i mean, here in Central Texas we have had in the past month, days as cold as 30s-40s, followed by a stretch of days in the high 70s. average temp has probably been 50-60s..and to me that is FREEZING COLD, but to a New Englander, it might be considered warm? i dont know.
you need to be more specific re "MUST be warm".
