I wasn't born in Texas, but.....you know the rest of the saying. I lived there for 13 years and then moved away to the horrid Pacific NW almost 4 years ago. I'm trying to get back to TX, hopefully this year. I can't wait! I was visiting friends in TX in December and almost had tears in my eyes when I saw the Texas flag. I still have my TX drivers license and my car plates are in my trunk. I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of them! I just need to land a job and I'm there!

I'm a native Texan who's moved back and forth between Texas and California three times. Once I moved to California, I swore I'd never move back to Texas because I love the mountains, the beach, the L.A. culture. But now that California is sinking like the Titanic, I'm fleeing back to Texas for better local government, cheaper cost-of-living, and so my kids can be near family.
Never say never!

I feel your pain, but just in an opposite way. I get tears when I see license plates from North Carolina or Tennessee. I hope you get to come back soon, it would make you as happy as moving out would make me.

1. North Carolina gets hot too, the mountains are somewhat cooler.
2. I'm sure Houston is going to weep when you go...honestly, if you hate it so much...why not leave?
