1.Yes North Carolina does get hot too, but at least it's pretty there and the mountains is where I want to be.
2. Yes I hate it here, but I need a job there and money, so would you would like to contribute to my moving fund?

Some parts are kind of cute, but in MY opinion, it can't hold a candle to North Carolina.

You say that God is Great...yet, you insult God's favorite State in the Union. I think you should think hard and long about this.

The Dallas Cowboys may be God's team, but North Carolina is God's country

[quote=txsizzler;7373322]This is something I am kind of curious about. I have been in Texas now for about 15 years, and do not regret it at all. I do miss the mountains of Montana to a certain extent, but I do not miss the winters at all. Now that I am moving to Corpus Christi with a great job in hand, it makes it all the much better.
I suppose what I am asking, is I seem to always read threads about people wanting to come to this great state. I really never see threads about people wanting to move away from Texas; especially moving back north! Reading through these posts, it would almost seem as if there is a pilgrimage of some sort to Texas.
So, anyone out there who wants to get away from Texas, or is or actually has accomplished this and is happy about it?
Yes. All the time! Even though I was born and raised here, I find it too oppressively conservative. I desperately miss southern CA, but it needs to be a lot less expensive and a lot less illegals for me to even consider moving back.

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.
I'm a native and I don't think Texas is pretty. Maybe out West it gets nicer - but nothing compared to what I have seen logging in over 500,000 + miles road tripping.
I've lived in 3 other states, but always came back for work.
Hopefully one day - I'll get to move away again and not look back.

Loved that saying! Gave me a laugh, thanks.
What 3 other states?
