All hot states. Ca the best of the climates, I suppose. Which one would you want to return to? Or do you have another in your mind?

Forget CA. The home prices are sky high and I could kick myself for ever leaving. I couldn't afford to go back if I wanted to.

kat1234 is on a distinguished road
I'm leaving Texas in two weeks and very excited about it! I'm a Colorado native but have been in Dallas for about 6 years now. I don't mind the weather, but then again I love the humidity (Colorado is dry like no other and the humidity here constantly makes me feel like I'm on vacation or something). I'm mostly leaving because I can't stand the people. They are nice enough, but the materialism, shallowness, and vapid nature of the city is disgusting. I'm moving to the east coast and couldn't be more excited! I'm excited to be closer to the ocean, somewhere with seasons, and somewhere with history and culture! I find the conservative politics and get-married-and-start-pumping-out-babies attitude draining. And its just not very pretty here at all...

Also, I'm only 27. Life's too short to spend it all in Texas. There is a big, bad world out there to explore

I am glad you are getting to follow your heart, where ever that may be. I think I would love Co too. I'm happy for you.

I wouldn't return to any of the former to states "to live".

Another place in mind? Of course - Colorado.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience there. I am from a small town north of Dallas, where there are a lot of farmers and really good down-to-earth people. I wanted to wish you the best of luck on your move east. I envy you the four seasons and all the beauty New England (if that is where you are going) has to offer.
Take care!
Stephanie P

Thank you! I should open a "my mother-in-law gets on my last nerve!" thread. I feel like it would be quite popular.
