I have lived in Corpus Christy, Houston and now Orange Texas. Corpus was a bit of heaven on earth (my opinion), Houston, too busy for me and Orange is horridily humid! I'm scratching to get out!

I wish it were easy to just pick up and leave. I'd been out of here years ago! Unless you are single and do not have anyone relying on you, it is really hard to get all the chicks in line. Our chicks are just now lineing up. As soon as this house sells, we're outa here!

If you don't like dogs, be on your way.

I would leave in a minute if I could afford to do so. I may have to wait until I retire and then, it's whether I can stand to leave my children. I may be a Grandma by then, and that would be difficult. Even though I'm single, it's kind of scary moving away. I like my comfort zone and am a creature of habit, but I surely hate the heat of Texas and now the influx of more crime from the border. Oh goodness, where is the great place to live? I keep searching and searching via the internet. Of course, one has to see a place in person to really decide.

They wouldn't mind; they're adults and very self-sufficient. I'm just afraid I might regret it if I were to take the plunge and move on.

What is it that you dislike most about Texas? (Please forgive if you've stated it before.)

The humidity. The heat would be different without the humditiy. I know Houston is humid too. Are you okay with it?

I will be moving back to Austin (after a 25 year absence, living all over the US and abroad) in three weeks, to be near my 80+ year old parents. Although I did elementary/jr hi/hi/college in Austin, I already know that as soon as my presence there is no longer required, I will be getting out of Texas, fast.

Heading to the Colorado Plateau -- four seasons, and more cattle than people.
