According to City-Data lists, the richest districts in TX are as follows...

76102,
75205,
& 75225 in Dallas -Ft. Worth

&
77002 & 77019 in Houston.

I think that a comparison will be an interesting thread,
especially if we have commentators who have actually lived in those areas...

"district" is probably misleading--at least to me--I thought you were referring to school districts

you really mean zip codes--and that covers a fairly large area as well

77002 is downtown Houston and 77019 is Neartown/Montrose area.

76102 is downtown FW, 75205 is Highland Park area, and 75225 is just north in the Meaders area (George Bush's home).

I don't think zip codes are necessarily the best way to divide when referring to wealth.

Montrose is 77006. 77019 is River Oaks.

I think we should exclude both areas' downtowns and pit the old money areas against each other and see who wins. Houston has River Oaks, the Memorial Villages, and a few other areas just or almost as monied. Dallas has the Park Cities and I don't know what other areas.

I think Dallas has more billionaires so the winner will probably be Dallas.

Those zips all seem to correspond to CBD's, either in Houston or F.W... I guess city-data is using office location data there, hence the disconnect with the actual wealthy areas (where people live). Seems like C-D has all the info by zip-code, but their top-100 lists don't understand the difference.

Any idea how to sort for the actual richest areas?

D/FW has more millionaires. Houston has more billionaires.

I'm fairly certain it's the other way around. Dallas is #9 in the world for billionaires according to Forbes, and Houston is nowhere to be seen on the list.

I believe that historically, Houstonians don't list, as a matter of preference. Like, if you have to ask I'm sure as hell not gonna tell ya.

I stand corrected

D/FW has 24 billionaires to Houston's 10 although I do think Houston has more millionaires.
