Nightlife is one of the most subjective things. I prefer it in Dallas but many prefer it in Houston and neither of us is wrong. I think Dallas' nightlife is more cohesive so that does help.

Whenever people go on with the "which is better" between Dallas and Houston, the only definitive things I can think of is that the food is better in Houston and the shopping is better in Dallas. I base that on awards and recognition both have received from outside their respective cities in those categories and from my experience in both cities.

I think you are like the mother choosing between her sons. Impossible choice.

Food isn’t definite better in Houston and shopping isn’t definite better in DFW. While Houston bears DFW in many cuisines, DFW has their own that they excel in. And Houston seems to attract more luxury flagships recently. But Shopping in Houston vs Dallas is a boxing match that favors one side or the other overtime.

Houston's food is definitely better. Dallas has more shopping. Cowboy is valid.

I lived for 3 decades in Houston, and I've also lived in Dallas. Neither area is high on my list to return to; however, Houston is a place I would NEVER choose to live again, it's a craphole that I hate more every time I go back (which is frequent because my kids and grandkids still live there).

DFW has a lot more going for it, and I don't mind as much. I do prefer the Ft. Worth side of town somewhat, but there are a lot of good places to live in the metroplex.

Wow, it took you 30 years to get out of a "craphole", poor guy you wasted a huge chunk of your life, didn't you? Why did you stay so long ? Please don't give that old tired excuse that you were "stuck" there. Life is truly what you make of it...

Three decades? No way I'd spend three decades somewhere I hate. Glad you finally were able to leave. Both you and the city are likely better for it.

And I disagree. He’s valid for feeling how feels, but I disagree and I’m valid for feeling it as well. Dallas has a better food scene than credited. And Houston’s shopping is on another level. Personally I don’t see how Dallas can be said it definitely has a better shopping scene while there’s so many luxury flagships not found there that are found in Houston. I think the food and shopping scenes are fairly even.
