i'm considering getting certified in another area and not mentioning my last gig...5 months after being hired for advanced classes i was sent to another school in the district the day before school began. should i disclose this or simply not mention that year? thanks

they will find out--they will check your records and it will show up with TEA work history...for the district -- not the specific school--so they will know that you worked there

is this your current job--how many years in the past--did you already walk away from that job?

don't understand what you mean about "getting certified" in a 2nd area--
are you returning to school for hours or just taking the certification test to see if you meet exit standards?

IF you lie on an application and omit information pertinant to your personal or work history--that is grounds for being fired as soon as they discover it--whether it is before you are hired or after--
I guess the district could also notify the state that you lied--that might cause problems for your certification in general...

what happened to you is not that unique--sounds like you went from what you thought would be a "good" teaching situation with AP/advanced classes to one that was not so good--maybe the worst school in the district sort of thing...
some principals would think that leaving in the middle of contract year is really mark of unprofessional behavior--someone who can't be depended upon--not a team player--and would not hire you because they were afraid you would do the same thing to them unless you had the "perfect" job...
