As long as you don't talk about wanting to change the gun laws they won't care.

Not at all. I don't know why anybody would care if Californians move to TX. I couldn't care less. People move to Houston from all over the planet. CA is just one of many places people come from to Houston. I think people are all the same anywhere in the world. Every place I've been in America and the places I've been to in Taiwan and China I never see any difference. I think people like to pretend that others are different so they have something to debate. People are all the same any where.

That's precisely why I am moving to TX, to change the gun laws to stop all of you from shooting each other !!! Actually, I'm glad to leave CA so I can conceal carry again like I use to when I lived on the east coast. I don't understand states that block law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. I'm also looking for a good gun club to join around the Wichita Falls area if there are any.
On a side tangent: My gun is useless right now since I can't seem to find any ammo for it anywhere, what gives?

I doubt that you'll be shunned. I don't have anything against Californians.

I do. Just don't say where you're from, or at least don't brag about it. Definitely don't try to enforce any California ideas onto us--we're fine as we are being financially solvent, thanks.

There is a shortage of ammo nation wide.

Since they couldn't pass gun control laws they got rid of all the bullets.
See..they won !

I agree. Criminals are always going to get guns no matter what the law says. That's the definition of a criminal; they break the laws. It seems a lot of people in Washington don't understand the definition of a criminal.

Fort Worth and Dallas each have a ridiculous gun "buy back" thing going in which they give a $50 gift card or grocery card for each gun turned in. The authorities are hoping to reduce crime by getting gums "off the streets". As I see it, all they are doing is taking guns away from people who might be able to defend themselves with them. Those people who will use guns in criminal ways will certainly not be among those who ascribe to this absurdity. Fifty dollars?! Please.
It's just another stupid case of blaming the gun rather than the criminal, as if the guns themselves were inhabited by some sort of evil spirit.

And, what will happen if the trends given by these stats continue, and Texas is dominated by a majority minority that is unskilled, and a net drain on state resources?
In other words, what do you think of this blog entry? Do you think that the rankings have changed that much since '07, or is Texas even worse off?
Bay Area Houston: It's official. Texas worst place to live in US.
In the comments, the consensus is that if you take away the uneducated minority/aliens, you automatically jump Texas into the top 10 state tier.....
my question...is Texas, in that case, doomed demographically? Can they really do anything to ameliorate an uneducated horde, unwilling to assimilate
let alone withstand education? And what control do cities like Austin have per the masses of new residents from out-of-state, especially California,
who are filling a state that is fiscally imploding, burdening the infrastructure themselves in a reverse "Okie" rush?
What control does Austin have per outsiders swarming into their state, alien and otherwise?

You can throw those stats out the window. We moved almost 2 years ago from Irvine, CA to Keller, TX and have absolutely no regrets.
