Texas is diverse- some places are pretty desolate Hereford always has a bad smell, but other places are really nice.

Rockport is a friendly ocean town with almost no winters and friendly people from all over> Good Schools.

I also like El Paso - mountains and desert. El Paso is the friendliest big city I've ever been to and I've been all over.

Houston crime and pollution and the worst traffic. Austin too has horrible traffic.

Corpus is nice except for the refineries- Corpus and Buffalo (NY) are the two most drivable cities in the US.

Yeah I know what you're talking about in Hereford. You got the wonderful aroma of the feed lots. I used to live in Lubbock. Lubbock has a feedlot southeast of town. Every time the wind blew from the southeast we got to smell money.

Key word here. I don't think folks in Hereford care about the smell when it's what's keeping the town alive.

No they care about the smell but money is more important though. Since it brings in money they put up with it. It's kind of like working 8 - 5. Most people don't like doing it but they put up with it in order to keep the bills paid. 8 - 5 is better than Skid Row.

So now you're starting to bash us in our own forum? The real intent of this thread was to start discussion, not so snobs like you could bash places they've never been to. The Texans in the General US forum can be annoying, but at least they don't pollute other forums with their ignorance.

You're right. You can post anywhere you want to, but you're not adding anything to the discussion. You're making your usual snide remarks. Texas is an amazing place to raise a family as I'm sure your beloved Long Island is, but you're not one to comment on Texas seeing as you've never been here, don't you think?

I'm sure there's nice places every where in the world. There's good and there's bad about any place. Texas has its good points and its bad points. Just like NYC and Long Island have their good points and bad points. NYC has its nice areas to live, Houston has its nice areas, just about any other place has its nice areas. When somebody talks bad about a place I usually don't give it much creedence. They're talking bad about that place because they had a bad experience there. I could visit there or move there and have just the opposite experience. I have a friend that every place he moves to he complains about it. What this means is it's not the place but it's him. He's the problem and not the place. Benjamin Franklin once said that if you didn't like the last place then you won't like the next place. He also meant it's the individual that's the problem and not the place. Benjamin Franklin was a good man.

By the way, I didn't think you meant anything bad by your comment.
