Dallas and Fort Worth are binary stars. From Wikipedia:
A binary star is a star system consisting of two starsorbiting around their common center of mass. The brighter star is called the primary and the other is its companion star or secondary.
Fort Worth is now no longer simply a secondary, but now it's a companion. Unfortunately for you, JR Ewing and the Cowboys are from Dallas, not Fort Worth. Otherwise, the world would know the cities as FWD.

It really should be FWD rather than DFW, as in "Forward"!

I don't know if any of you watch that Police reality program The First 48...I have seen many in Dallas and I would like them to film some in Fort Worth.

COPS filmed in Fort Worth alot more than Dallas, so I think we're even with reality police shows....

I agree...it is the most frustrating thing to hear the DFW area called "Dallas area" or to hear the airport called the "Dallas airport" or to hear FW called a "Dallas suburb." It drives me crazy.
