Actually, it seems to me alot of our worst winter weather happens in the fall. Like TexasReb, I am in Wichita Falls as well (at least for the next 3 weeks anyhow... lol), and have been here for nearly 15 years. I remember the Halloween snowstorm in 1993.. just unbelievable! There have been several big snows here in mid and late November too. In 2000, I remember a fantastically cruel artic outbreak in mid December (was working for a concrete place at the time).
Anyhow, it was certainly cool today... only making it into the mid 40's. Tonight, its supposed to drop to around 20 degrees! Ouch!

Because a real snowfall is such a rarity in most parts of Texas in most years, I still get a "little kids" type joy over the magic of snow! Especially when it falls at night and is on the ground fresh and perfect in the morning!
BUT...I can't drive very good on it (as is true of most Texans/Southerners) and it gets muddy and dirty and melty and miserable fairly quickly.
Bottom line is, at least IHMO, I wish it would fall at night, be there in the morning to enjoy. And let the kids play in. Maybe even get a day off from work.
THEN? Go away, dammit!

We did, just last week. I hope Winter stays Winter for a while before the savagely hot and muggy weather beings.

Yes...you are around Houston where Palm Trees can show with Glory. In the Northern Reaches of the promised land...it is in the low 30s.
