How much fun!! Austin is definitely a live music venue...and while I love to visit (Sis lives a few miles south of Austin), I'd never live there because of the humidity.

But you can't beat that great Texas honky-tonk music.

When are you relocating to Texas? Are things any better?
You've got mail!

All are great, but you are playing my song there, Pontificator! Are you from that area? We get to Caddo Lake at LEAST once a year...and more if possible!

And some kudos for the wooden screen door sound! That was good and original!

I lived in East Texas as a child, but only visited Caddo Lake for the first time three years ago......thought I wouldn't like the swamp (that's what I get for thinking). Going to Caddo Like is like stepping into another world, it assaults all the senses, a rush of natural noise and blessed quiet.

Gotta make it this year, too! And that's the last place I heard a wooden screen door thwack......

I have another set to add except this one is about my hometown, Lubbock, instead of Texas as a whole.
- Walking down the red brick streets during the "Fourth on Broadway" festival on a hot summer morning.
- Walking barefoot through the park while it's raining.
- Watching the most beautiful sunsets with their reflection off the lake.
- Tech playing in Jones Stadium on a chilly Saturday night.
- The eerie midieval castle feel of Lubbock High's hallways while the bells play in the tower.

DANG! All my pics disappeared when I moved them to a folder. Here they are again!
The smell of BBQ!

The scenic Riverwalk!

The cattle drive at the Stockyards!

That beautiful flag waving proudly over the Alamo!

Down home Texas on a Saturday night spent with a good friend--NOTAM!!

Cowboy butts! Notam, don't go tellin' these boys at Cowboy Church that I was snappin' pics of their butts at team ropin!

My friend and favorite Texan musician--noone can sing a country song better than Dale Watson!

Me and Dale! I could listen to him sing all day long.
