Cool Rocky's Drive-In: Big Spring, TX

Hi-
Rocky's Drive-In in Big Spring has been recommended to me by a friend who lives there.

I plan to go out there from the D/FW metroplex in April 2009.

What is/are the best menu item(s)?

Thanks,
fallguy

Thanks. My friend Bobby who lives there tells me Rocky's has great burgers & Mexican food. I'm headed there en route to Big Bend then onward to free lodging at my friend Dave's apt. in Lubbock then back home to Dallas the weekend of 9.11.09 in my friend Derek's silver '08 Mustang GT.

Hey I haven't been to Big Spring on the latest journey yet...still workin' on it. Big Bend will hopefully be 1-2 years from now as looking for full-time job to build up stature to take a week off to see Big Bend National Park for the 1st time. I've only been to Marfa, Alpine & Fort Davis once (2004) & didn't have time for B.B.N.P. b/c I came via Lubbock, Albuq., Santa Fe, Roswell & Carlsbad Caverns which was only 1300 miles in 43 hours in my friend's '97 Subaru Outback. He drove the whole thing b/c he had something to prove.

Thanks again & t.t.y.l.,
fallguy

Hi-
My friend Rob was the one available to drive for my whole trip. Due to time constraints, we missed Rocky's Hamburgers as we hurried past Big Spring on Interstate 20 Westbound and we missed Marfa/Alpine/Fort Davis but at least I'd been to those 3 once (2004)!!

I took a March 27-28, 2010 Weekend Road Trip with my friend Rob Allen driving from his home in Houston (Huntsville) to my home in McKinney to pick me up (same one I told you about several months prior) to Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant in Pecos that I missed last time. (I've been planning to eat at Alfredo's since I found out about it in 2006.)

After Pecos, we went to Hobbs, NM and Lubbock.
Rob drove an *incredible* 1,556 total miles by himself in 2 days(!!) counting the dropping me off at home in McKinney & returning to his home in Huntsville on this trip b/c a bad spatial deficit from birth keeps me off the highways.

We got hit on the left side by a drunk driver in Lubbock at 1:00 AM early Sunday 3/28 after we pulled into town from Hobbs, New Mexico about 15 minutes prior!!

The drunk was in a metallic champagne GMC Yukon & hit us going 20-30 mph, causing $1600 damage to Rob's driver's door on the left side & his passenger door on the left side in his dark blue outside, tan inside 2003 Jaguar X-Type named "Victoria", she's a Proper British Lass!! We were shaken but unharmed, Thank God!!

The Lubbock Police are looking for the drunk driver. Rob said he'd drive from his home in Houston (Huntsville) to testify against the drunk if necessary.

But by The Grace of God, we were unharmed & Rob returned to my home in McKinney safety & dropped me off at 5:30 PM Sunday 3/28 & returned safely to his apartment in Houston (Huntsville) around 9:00 PM Sunday 3/28.
