Default Moving to Dallas SOON!! HELP!!!

WE are moving to Dallas within the next few days and need some help figuring out how quickly we can rent an apartment. My husband got a new job there and I am a certified bilingual special education teacher. We have a 1 year old and we would like a diverse and safe environment for our baby boy. We want to rent for a year ($1,200 a month max). What areas would you guys recommend? We are relocating from NYC and need a place by august 15. Thanks!!

You'll get a much better response if you repost this in the Dallas forum. When you do, do include what area of town your dh will be working, what would be an acceptable commute time for work, your budget range and size (any pets?) for the apartment. Welcome to Dallas!
