Question Large family moving to McAllen

Hi all, I have alarge family and we will be moving to the McAllen area within the next few months. I've read some of the past comments about the area and have heard the stories of drugs and the locals. First I'm od spanish decent and we have nothing to do with drugs. We are orignally from the norhteast and see that the McAllen area is growing and will offer many opportunities. My question is on rental units. We are a very large family, 4 children plus me and my wife. We like to know if house rentals are a viable option or are there apartment complexes that cater to large families. Also I would like to hear more uptodate commments about the area, knowing I will probably invite some vedry narrow views but all comments are welcomed and would be appriciated

Well Mcallen is growing and beautiful, but like extexanwannabe said, it's hot down here. More specific questions might help. Like what's your range, do you have ajob or what field are you looking into, etc.
