I think that is what makes In-N-out so popular, not choices, They can put out a good product. Oh, btw and most don't know this, they do make a few kinds of burgers that are not on the menu...

That's what makes them so special:

Hamburger, cheeseburger, double double, fries, sodas and shakes. They are who they are and make no apologies for it.

exactly, they have not changed or added to their menu since they began in Baldwin Park Ca in the mid 50s.

Do we really want every state in the nation to have the exact same stores, restaurants, etc? Give me some regional diversity. If In-N-Out comes to Texas, where am I going to go eat in California to get a true Californian experience?

I don't know about you guys, but I love experiencing regional differences when I travel throughout the United States.

Read the posters comment. To me it sounds like they are taking what has been said by some on here as the gospel and that In-n-Out is coming here. They aren't. While I'm not chummy with anyone in the In-n-Out chain I have had the occassion to run into their top exec's at conventions and other events. When I have personally asked them about coming here the look on their face is a dead giveaway that they have NO INTENTIONS of even stepping foot into the State of Texas to expand. They then went on to verbally express the same, "NO! We are not coming to Texas." So I guess the answer for me would be, "yes, they have told me this." The emails that have been received by those inquiring about a move to new frontiers are very misleading. Read it thoroughly and you can see the answer was textbook vague and it gives the consumer the typical, "thank you for liking our product.................but we are not interested in expanding into that area". Typical corporate verbage for such requests. Again, it is a false hopes rumor that just keeps on building. The typical, "I heard from a friend who heard from his brother in laws sister's mother who heard from....." rumor. Nothing more.

Just letting everyone know to not get their hopes up that they are going to see one popping up near their hood in Texas anytime soon if ever.

mom, you are certainly right is some ways, don't get the hopes up, but I look at it a little differently, if there were absolutely no plans to expand, the email answers would have been a little different. I do understand what you are saying..rumors get started, they get out of control, we want to beleive them and nothing happens. I think I am going to wait a couple of months and email to see if the letter comes back exactly the same..

Oh, for those wanting Trader Joes, I have questioned that one. Apparently it is a warehouse thing.. Until they decide to build a warehouse, there will be no TJoes in Texas, that sucks as well.

They maybe trying to get into Texas now since they are building a huge Aldi's warehouse in Denton. Mostly whereever Aldi's enters, Trader Joe's follows because Aldi's is the parent company to Trader Joe's. At least that's what I heard. I think TJ's would be perfect for the new growing urban communities in Texas. Still wish there was more Whole Foods instead of Wal-Marts.
