Default Paris Texas up and downs of living there.
My husband went to Paris delivering a load. He really liked it but I want to know about it. Are there good schools? What about rental houses can you find one and what are the prices for a three possibility a four bedroom? How is the area in general? He has a job which we could still live in Texas and he could work with his company but anything else you can think of that might be helpful. Thanks

Stacie.....there were several thread not too long ago about Paris......pretty thorough......you might do a search for them and see if some of your questions can be answered. Let us know if there is anything specific that you need. Paris is a nice place and probably would not be too much of a culture shock coming from your current location.

My wife is from Paris,Texas so I do know a little something about the place. It's the largest city in the county and they do have a Home Depot, Walmart, Paris Jr College and some chain restaurants. There are some very nice historic homes near downtown. Some have been restored and some need restoration. I believe they have two high schools but the majority of the residents go to Paris High. Because of this it is very diverse and you will from poor to well to do students all going to school together. The two biggest employers by far are Campbell Soup company and Kimberly Clark. It certainly is not a cosmopolitan city but it is a good place to raise a family.

Paris does have two large school districts......the other one is North Lamar ISD - it serves the NE part of Paris and out into the NE part of Lamar Co - that's the area where the newer, nicer homes are, including the rural area north of town. NLISD is a very good school district. Paris Jr College is also located there.....very good, inexpensive place for students of all ages. PJC also provides quite a lot of events and entertainment for local people.

sheridan09 is on a distinguished road
No one ever remembers chisum ISD. Its by far the best school and its the smallest. Its a 2A while NLISD and PISD are both 4A.
