Default Best neighborhoods in and around tyler and longview

We are being recruited by both towns; which areas are the best in each?

You've heard about Tyler. I like Longview, not as well as Tyler, for lots of reasons. But someone will speak on Longview. Still, really you need to pull up the posts on both cities and you will see the good and not so good about each city. I just hesitate to repeat all the advantages of Tyler, because I really, really don't want to be a part of a Tyler/Longview smack down. I've got many coworkers/friends who are in/from Longview. Good luck either way

Without knowing you, it is hard to say what would be best. Both are very good cities and the surrounding areas are worth exploring also. By the wording of your two posts, I would guess Tyler would be more of what you are looking for.

Tyler has more of a big city feel (more like a suburb of a big city) with more options in the arts, colleges, night life, churches, volunteer opportunities, etc. It has more upscale subdivisions and opportunities to participate with those who might live in those subdivisions. It also feels a bit busier than Longview, that can be good or bad ... only you can make that decision.

Area around Tyler such as Lindale, Bullard, Whitehouse, Troup, etc., offer different options for acreage, lakeside living, slower pace, etc.

Longview is more of a bigger small town, if that makes sense? A little slower paced, and a little less organized. Several very nice subdivisions in each of the three school districts. Remember ... we have doctors and lawyers here too!

Surrounding areas of Hallsville, White Oak, Harleton, Diana, Lake Cherokee, and others offer acreage and a slower paced, rural feel. Some very nice homes on the outskirts of both Longview and Tyler.

Again, Tyler probably has a little more of what you are looking for ... but Longview has it's advantages also. Either way, I think you'll be pleased with the area.
