Looking to move to Eldorado, Texas in the very near future. I have searched these blog's only to be confused! Seem's all the Eldorado's are mixed together. Anyone have any idea's of a nice neighborhood between either Eldorado and Sonora or Eldorado and San Angelo? Work will be relocating my husband soon to the office in Eldorado, Texas.

Thank you so much in advance for any help!!

Eldorado is the ONLY town in Schleicher County. It is VERY rural, so there really aren't "neighborhoods" or suburbs. Eldorado is a ranching community, and the only industry there besides ranching is oil and gas well service. There used to be an Air Force radar station outside of Eldorado, but it closed about 10 years ago. The polygamists' YFZ Ranch is between the old radar station and the town of Eldorado.

There is a little town between San Angelo and Eldorado called Christoval, but it would be a long drive to Eldorado for your husband each day. There is nothing between Eldorado and Sonora except for ranchland. It is about 45 minutes' drive from Eldorado to San Angelo.

Good luck with the move! West Texas has its own beauty and hopefully you will learn to love it!

Yes, I've been through Eldorado. It's definitely very rural! The polygamists picked that area for that reason, so they could stay out of the public eye, and they succeeded for some time.

No problem. Hubby and I are proud Angelo State University alumni, and we drove through Eldorado many times. My first job in West Texas had a field territory, and Eldorado was one of my areas. Ah, those were the days...
