Default Has Anyone Had Any Experience With These Builders?

Any experience with either Silver Star Custom Homes or Tilson Custom Homes?

I have a Tilson Home. Built in 1999 and I'm still living in it. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Texas builder.

I got the Bridgeport 3/2, farmhouse elevation. I had a covered back porch added.
Very nice to deal with and they were able to customize that Bridgeport plan exactly to what I wanted.
Found their pricing very reasonable and the interior trim, cabinetry, doors were of upgraded quality (and I didn't upgrade).

I upgraded the bones (porch, fireplace, doorways and bathroom rearrangement) and went with their standard carpet, vinyl floor as those are easily changed out later on when they wear out.

Hope this helps. They have model home parks across Texas. I'm near Austin and travelled down to Houston to see the Bridgeport model up close and personal before I moved forward.

Thanks so much, Hap. They sent me a brochure and I like the floorplan of their Emerald Model. I like the fact that they tell you, right on their website, how much the home is going to cost to build, with no surprises. I really like that. I also see a floor plan at Silver Star that I like, but they don't list their cost to build. Have you or did you have any problems with anything in the home? Was there any concerns that they had to come back to correct or which caused you problems, later? How about your foundation?
