That's not so bad, for a government document.

When I moved from Florida to Tennessee, It cost me $19.50 for a new resident license with no new resident impact fees.
Doesn't Texas also charge you by your vehicle's weight for tags ? more money to register trucks then cars ?
Just curious, Not trying to be a smart ass or anything.

I was actually referring to the picture of the new license when I said that's not so bad.
Yes, the annual registration is by weight of the vehicle. My 3/4 ton pickup runs about $50/year.

Looks like it probably has RFID embedded in it:
DHS | Enhanced Drivers Licenses: What Are They?
State-issued enhanced drivers licenses provide proof of identity and U.S. citizenship. These new documents are being developed by many states to comply with travel rules under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). Enhanced drivers licenses can be used by U.S. citizens instead of a passport to cross the border with Canada, Mexico.
...
Several border states (Arizona, California, Michigan, Texas, Vermont and Washington) are working with the Department to produce these enhanced drivers licenses.

It's ugly. I REALLY dislike the background - it's too busy. But I suspect they also think it will cut down on forgeries.

Why is there a crop circle next to the Capitol dome?

I like the current TX DL. I don't see why they couldn't embed all that extra junk and keep the current design.

It's a drivers license for all Texans. Placing one cities lone skyline is not representative of all Texas it's representative of that city. The captiol is one thing as it is an emblem of all Texas, like the Alamo but seriously, a stinking skyline? What other State drivers license has one cities skyline on it?
Don't misunderstand me, I'd want no one city skyline on it.
Am I the only one who feels the skyline is too much and inappropriate?

Very true.
Again, where can one protest this stupid change?
Maybe an online petition?
