I think that Hispanics tend to be shorter because of the culture of Latin American countries. Blacks and white Americans tend to average about the same size because we generally have the same diet, sleep patterns, exercise, etc.

I can always see over the crowd. Yes, there are heads sticking up here and there (like yours!) but I can always see over the crowd. It stands out to me because in St. Louis when I went to the beer fest or to whatever they call the Veiled Prophet Fair these days, I never felt tall - I had to stand on my toes or crane my neck to see around people.

Here at, say, NIOSA or someplace like that? I don't have to stand on my toes to see across a crowd. Really.

Nice try, TexasNick. I'm still at (just shy of) six feet.

I have a hard time believing the average white male is 5'10. I am just a hair under 6'1 and it always seems I'm a good 4 to 5 inches taller than the average white guy. Same with blacks. Mexicans, holy crap. I can rest my chin on the head most of my wife's uncles, male cousins, brothers, etc.

I'm 5'10 and that's about normal from what I'm seeing. Besides, know any tall people that lived long? JK...just kidding....I think?

My two brothers are 6'1 and 5'11 and my husband is 6'3 which makes them the tallest Mexicans in San Antonio.

Of course I also have at least one person a week ask, "How tall ARE you?!" like I'm some freak of nature. Mostly these are women who are 5'0 or so. So I always counter with, "How short are YOU???"

really? i am 6'1" and have lived in san antonio 9 years, never had anyone make comments about my height... btw i work with a hispanic guy that is 6'6"

I hate to hear that Texas men are getting shorter. I am so short now that when I pull up my socks I blindfold myself.
