We go out to area often from Austin. We have verizon and had service in areas I would never have imagined. My granddaughter has sprint and she had only had service inside or near by town. We had it in most places inside big bend even with all the mountains.
as far as work that I couldn't say. I do know there are several well digging companys (water not oil). and the area has been growing fast last couple of yrs. anyone out side town has to have wells.
