Best Places to Live in Texas
Hi my wife and I have been considering a move to Texas some where along the Gulf Coast We would like to live near the beaches but dont have to live on the water. Looking for a city with good shopping and schools. Any ideas on where to look would be helpful.

League City, Seabrook, or Clear Lake come to mind. I graduated from Clear Lake High School, but any of the schools there and in the Clear Creek ISD would be very good.

Possibly Corpus Christi or Galveston would suite you nicely. What kind of size of town are you looking for? What do you consider to be "good" shopping?

A population of 150,00 and up. Good schools, decent grocery stores, super target, whole foods, good restraunts. Going to rent not buy at least for a little while just need to be within about 15-20 minutes of the beaches. We like everything to be near by. Banking , schools, grocery. If any of you have ever been to a Publix grocery store in Florida thats the kind of grocery store we are looking for.

Personally, I have never been to a Publix grocery store. But from what seem to be what you are looking for, I think Corpus Christi would be a good match. Its right on the gulf, has decent shopping, no Super targets but we do have a target and a Sun Harvest. Not to mention we have H-E-B, Wal-Mart, Sams Club, and H-E-B Plus which is an awesome super grocery store. The city has 285,000 people and the south side of town sounds like a perfect suite for you with everything in such a close proximity. Also, there are some great and decent schools in the city such as Calallen, Flour Bluff, Gregory Portland, Tuloso, King is nice, and I think Carroll is nice for CCISD.
