I've stayied in San Antonio back in 2001 for about a month. I loved the weather. I was on a military base 90% of the time so I don't know much else. Now I have a 3 1/2 year old. I'm a 25 year old, single, black woman. Next year I'll have my degree in business management. I've been in Richmond, Virginia all my life and need a change.

I've checked out a few of the main treads in San Antonio and Dallas already. San Antonio is beautiful from the pics in the thread. I would love a suburnban area but I think SA maybe a tad too slow for me. I need a Borders and fitness center close by. Would love a beach, sports events and museums. On the flip side I am black and need a salon and other places that cater to us near by as well.

Of course I want a place low in crime and high on education. Family friendly; where I can entertain my little one. I need a place to start my career. It would be great if I could raise my daughter in a very diverse neighborhood!

Well since you mentioned the beach...try Houston (Clear Lake area). First thing to do, however, is secure a job. That will have a huge effect on what city you end up in.

At the moment, they are pristine. Being that most of the sand was shipped in and the rest of it has been sifted very thoroughly since Ike.

Thank you for the responces. I am doing research on Clear Lake, TX. I don't have a job in TX as of yet do to still attending school; so I can't say how much I'd want to pay for housing or a commute. Are there any other areas that I could compare to Clear Lake or is this the main place offering what I'm looking for?

MMMmmmm...thanks but I think not. Florida is the pedaphile capital of the U.S. I think I'll like Texas excluding the size of those bugs.

In what way? If you're thinking of Clear Lake, how on earth would SA be slow for you? lol

You'll find plenty of that in SA.

We do have sports events and museums but sadly no beach. Though we are only an hour and half from some nice beaches (no not Corpus).
