Default Moving to Blanco, Tx? (Best, small Texas town?)

I was wondering if anyone on here lived in Blanco, Tx and could give me some pointers before taking the plunge?

I currently live in Pearland/South Houston (and have for all eighteen years of my life) but have always felt the pull of a small Texas town. While visiting some friends in Austin, I stopped by the Blanco Bowling Alley and had the best cheeseburger I have ever had..
Unfortunately, I did not have time to stay and check everything out - but from what I saw, I loved.

Anyways, does anyone know what the job situation is out there? I have not worked in five months (there are no jobs around here) and only have a high school diploma (no college - and only retail work experience) but am willing to do just about any job that will give me some security.

I used City-Data.com and found out the cost of living in Blanco is slightly cheaper than my current residence (which is always good) but I am willing check out other towns, preferably in central or more western Texas.

I would appreciate anyone's insight!
-Austin

P.S: I'm going to be riding out to Blanco on Wednesday to check out the rest of the town and talk to the locals.
