Default Muslims in Athens Texas

Hello,

I am interviewing with a company for a job out of Athens Texas. I was wondering if there are any Muslims in Athens Texas, and how many? I know Athens is a small town about an hour from Dallas, and I know there are many Muslims in Dallas.

Are there any Islamic Centers in Athens? Phone # perhaps?

Also, does anyone know what the people in Athens are like (nice, mean, friendly, welcoming, etc)?

Thank You All

Last I knew, and that has been several years, Athens did not have a mosque. It's not a large town at all.

I've been up there the past couple weekends visiting with a vineyard owner.

It's rural, Texan and very small. In general the people of East Texas are friendly farmers. However, it's a small town and I'm 99% sure there wouldn't be a Mosque.

Dallas is about a 90 minute drive, very pretty until you get near Dallas. It wouldn't be a bad trip to visit a Mosque.

I know there is a mosque in Tyler which is 25 miles to the east. Here is a link I found.

IslamicValley - Tyler Masjid of Al-Islam

Hope this helps!
