I'd say Whataburger is the best, with the caveat that some Whataburger restaurants are better than others. The one closest to my house is mediocre, but the next closest one is superb. I also like Burger King occasionally.

I prefer Braum's to Whataburger. Braum's shakes really go well with their burgers and krinkle fries.

Whataburger is my solid #2 though.

You're not kiddin'. I do love Braum's. I miss that part about going to Ennis on a regular basis (unfortunately, hubby's g'ma died so we don't go anymore).

whataburger is trash, overrated redneck joint, i ate there a few times and i paid 9 bucks for a burger alone because it was 4 patties of meat. honestly there is no good fast food place, maybe jack in the box is close but the rest is garbage and this coming from a person whos in the profession of cooking and currently in culinary school, and placed and won a few cooking competions in louisiana.

There is not much to choose. Each is different, none is better than the other. I go to WhataBurger just for the tradition of the thing. Makes me feel good to know that I'm in Texas eating a WhataBurger.

Someone said the WhataBurger doesnt go on the grill until you order it. But Ive gotten some that were served pretty quick.

I love Whataburger #1 with cheese and no onions and a sweet tea or a dr. pepper.

Braums, Jack in the box, and Carl's Jr. are good too.

In-N-Out doesn't count because it's not available in Texas. Whataburger has a nostalgic quality, and it has those great ketchup tubs, but I think their burgers are average as fast food goes, and sub-par as restaurant burgers go. Of course, I didn't grow up on Whataburger, so I have no memories of the coach of our (little league team treating us after a game (I know I've heard more than one Texan wax nostalgic about that very thing!).

Actually, I was referring to all fast food burger places nationwide. The criteria being many locations, cheap food, and fast. Whataburger doesnt compare to resturants, but as far as fast food chains go I love it. I agree with most people that the food is junk, but again that is most fast food burger joints, and I feel its the best junk. I would like to try In-N-Out burger I heard that its better.
