I wish they'd bring Braum's to Houston, mainly for their ice cream. That's one thing I miss about the metroplex.

I grew up in Texas and never caught the Whatbuger fever. They did have good ketchup, though, but I never had a craving for their burgers, even in my teenage bottomless appetite years. I always thought Wendy's was better. In n Out is ten times better as burgers go...and there are some smaller chains that are better yet. (Five Guys on the East Coast comes to mind - they are expanding too.)

I went to Vegas in February and got my first taste of an In & Out burger in Kingman, AZ. In my opinion, In & Out beats all other fast food chains I've ever eaten at. The place is a throwback to the 50's with a no frills menu of burgers, fries, rings, drinks and shakes. That's it. We both ate for 10 bucks and some change and got filled up on that, and I'm a big eater so that was an achievement. That was one of the best tasting burgers I've had in a LONG time!

In & Out is relatively small and still a family owned company, so I don't see it happening, but I so wish they would expand to Texas.

Of all the major fast food chains in my city, Braum's is my #1 followed closely by Jack in the Box. I'd probably put Whataburger in third.

I've never really liked the burgers at Whataburger, but I think they have one of the best fish sandwiches for fast food. I also like the onion rings.

You can get a better burger at Jack in the Box or Carls Jr, but it will cost more

Here in SA, you can get great burgers at FUDRUCKERS, CHESTERS, BIG BOBS, JIM'S, and ARMADILLOS among others

I cannot agree that Jack in the Box has better hamburgers than Whataburger (yikes!), but as I stated earlier, Whataburger locations aren't all the same. Maybe you experienced a bad one. Or perhaps it's just personal preference. I must admit those new mini sirloin burgers look interesting (it's a clever commercial, too, something Jack hasn't had for a long time). I agree about the fish sandwiches! They are really good.

The new little sirloin burgers at Jack are kinda gross.

The Burger Shots at BK are much better IMO.

Yeah, I like Burger King pretty well. But there aren't any of them near my house any more.

Whataburger is my solid #2 though.
In total agreement here. Braums does not get enough credit for how good their burgers are.....the 1/3 lb with cheese is awesome.

I still love Whataburger though....definitely #2 on my list.

Old fashioned burgers are a treasure. Al's in Arlington, Kincaids in Fort Worth, Dan's in Austin, great little joint in Llano (can't remember the name). Always looking for a good burger.
The infatuation with Kincaids is a mystery to me. When I ate there the burger was average tasting, small portioned, and about $7!

I'll go with the Braum's 1/3 lb cheesburger for $3....much better tasting and fills this 'ol Okie right up.
