Default Sweetwater,TX info

Hello there,I have a few questions about Sweetwater and TSTC west.I am currently considering going to TSTC for the wind energy program as it seems to be one of the more talked about programs right now.My first question is does anyone have any opinions on the quality of the program and the technicians it puts out into the field?I have pretty much made up my mind but would appreciate any input given. My second question is about housing and the areas in which it is found, being from the Detroit metro area I know that crime can change from one street to the next.I will probably be renting an apartment since my house does not want to sell ,does anyone know of a decent apartment complex in a good part of town.Any locals reading please dont be offended by this question,I only ask because some of the posts I have read lead me to believe some areas of sweetwater are more desirable that others. Thanks for any response given and God Bless.

Check out this link...

Don't know what you might expect to find, I'm still wondering why Sweetwater is there. Used to be its only claim to fame was a manure truck on I-20 blew up and made the windows rattle 45 miles away in Abilene.

The link above has a quote...

My husband checked into the program in Sweetwater. It has a good rep and students get jobs upon graduation. all you will have to do if drive around when you get to Sweetwater to find a neighborhood you like. Crime in small town tx is nothing like what you are accustomed to. You should be able to find an apartment really cheap compared to what you pay in a Metro area. Good luck and hope you like Texas.
