Tubing (South Texas)
What are the best places for tubing, particularly around San Antonio, New Braunfels, and San Marcos.
How do they compare with each other in terms of intensity? (Mild, average, etc.)
I would also appreciate any info in regards to tube rentals, logistics, etc. Thanks for any info.

I prefer tubing the Frio in the Concan/Leakey area, but in the area you are talking about, the Guadalupe north of New Braunfels is good tubing.

I'm only familiar with the Guadalupe and Comal tubing, most trips are mild/average, with one or two chutes or waterfalls on a trip. The Guadalupe is a little cold until summer
There are some good tubing threads on the SAN ANTONIO forums to check out too

San Marcos and New Braunfels are the best that are close to SA. Good, Cold water, kinda lazy float but lots of eye candy and there are shuttles to drop you off and pick you up.
You might also check out Wimberly, too.
The Guadalupe river is a nice one to tube/kayak also.
Have Fun.

Don't miss "the Horseshoe" on the Guadalupe, near New Braunfels.
