Default Tyler building materials

We are going to be doing some building in Tyler. Where is the best place to get building materials? Any kind of discount places?

You have several choices for building materials around Tyler. Of course, there's the obligatory big boxes, Home Depot and Lowe's. But you also have more knowledgeable and traditional yards to choose from. Cassity Jones on Hwy. 155, and McCoy's Bldg. Materials on the Loop are good choices. Since it's been awhile since I've been there, I'm not sure if Sam Hill or Gulf State's Lbr. are still around. I hope so. I know Cade's Bldg. Materials on Front St. has been gone for a long time, but they still have a big place in Mineola. And, if you want to drive up to Winnsboro, Foxworth-Galbraith (FoxGal to the regulars) offers another good choice.

There is a surplus and salvage building materials place just north of Athens, on Highway 19. They usually have things like windows, doors, etc., plus regular lumber. Very good prices on some of the stuff, not so good on others. Can't think of the name but it's a huge place maybe 1/2 mile north of the loop.
