Yeah, and if you aren't a resident and they catch you speeding they don't just give you a ticket, they take your license and tell you not to come back to their state. No joke.

I love that place. One of my goals is to buy up in Glenville (outside Cashiers) one day,on the Lake and the Course. Who needs religion when you have the NC Mountains?

Old news - there are also other taxes to consider. People are now moving out of Florida and Nevada- Easily Amused needs to keep up. Texas may have no income tax but property tax is only about average. People have generally moved out of the colder states starting in the 1950's when air conditioning became widely available, that would be called an Independent Variable if Easily Amused was scientific. There are too many factors and some taxes increased as people left. Its like saying 99% of those who use heroin started with milk first.

Texas isn't going to completely fill up. I don't think we'll be overcrowded. Even if the population rises to 30 million, I still think we'll be comfortable enough. We'll still have plenty of empty and available land, as the rural areas that don't see development will stay rural, and still an abundance of wide-open space. We'll be fine.
