We didn't get to have a honeymoon because we got married the day after I got out of boot camp and I had to check into my school the day after we got married.
The other thing is we're building our first and last house. It should be ready to move into about three weeks after we get back from our cruise.
Yes, We're a blessed couple!

I know two people who went on Alaskan cruises and they absolutely loved it! I saw pictures that one person brought back of the glaciers, so thick and cold that they were blue! Very cool!!

No big trips for us this summer because we're planning a kitchen remodel, but I hope to get to Schlitterbahn at least once and maybe rent a condo in Port Aransas for a weekend. We're in Corpus Christi and can go to the beach whenever, but I've heard from friends that when you rent a condo, you feel like you're on a "real vacation" even when you're just 30 minutes from home.

I walk to the store every day (or the library)--its about a mile. I've determined the most comfortable time to go is mid-afternoon. The humidity is lowest, and the breeze has started to pick up, and there might even be a few clouds for shade..
I ignore the temperature, and look at the dew point to see how "hot" it is. The dew point remains pretty much the same all day.

Officially kicked off summer last night with margaritas on the back porch, listening to a symphony of frogs and crickets.
May wander off to Caddo Lake, Rockport, friends in Drippin', maybe Fort Davis, or any number of historical sites........

We usually head somewhere cool for a week or so in late summer - mostly in August. This year it's Maine (a favorite), last year was Colorado, year before the Oregon coast ... we have about 4-5 places we alternate. Mr K has a stressful job and just wants to go somewhere cool, watch birds and hike around. We used to head to Southwestern Colorado (San Quan National forest) every summer when the kids were home and we were poor. Great camping up there. Some nice places in Northern New Mexico also. We like the Chama area.
I'm hoping to talk him into a camping trip in Arkansas in the fall - we've never been up toward Eureka Springs. Leaves should be nice.

Hehe, that is a good one. Don't get me wrong, I have had good memories in the sooner state, but now it is time to move on the the Later " Greater" state for bigger and better things for my life. I will most definitely write a lot of memoirs and cherish them.
Seeing as how I enjoy the warmer weather, especially in Texas, I know spending my summer's in Texas will be really nice.

By the way, if any of you folks have pictures involving the things you either are doing, will be doing, or have done this summer season, please don't hesitate to share them with us. We'd love to take a look.
