Any chance they're related to all the drilling activity in the Barnett Shale? I wasn't aware of any faulting in the immediate DFW area.

My sister and brother both live in the DFW metroplex and neither of them noticed any of these quakes. I just think it's fairly bizarre that North Texas would have 4 of them in 9 months, even small ones.

2.8 magnitude? Is that even capable of being felt by humans? I think hundreds of those happen every day all around the world.

There are some minor faults throughout Texas and earthquakes do happen here. They are NOTHING on the scale of what happens in California or some other places. Awhile back someone posted the link to a website where you can see how many earthquakes happen on a daily basis and where. I'd swear it was probably over 100 a day all of the time just in California alone. A few in Texas as well but mild. The ones that have been happening lately have been west of Dallas. I've lived here my entire life and never felt one.

My husband thinks that has something to do with it. All of the drilling going on in that area and making the plates shift and whatnot. Who knows, it very well could be a part of it.

The last one was near Cleburne in Johnson County. I have no concerns about earthquakes in Texas.

Exactly. The one that happened in the Irving Area (which I felt) was nothing compared to ones in California. When I lived in LA for 2 years, I felt several. Some are worse than others, but they are a lot worse still than the one that hit Irving.

California is ready to plunge then if people are feeling them several times a day. I have a plethora of family and friends out there and they've never indicated that to me. I believe they might occur on a daily basis, but they're not felt daily.
When I lived there for nearly 30 years, I was in a quake when I was four, but I don't remember it. Then I never felt another until I was 16, very slight, and then another when I was 23, a big one. There were aftershocks with that one for about 3 months, but not daily, just off and on and then all stood still again, at least non felt. Six years after than one, I moved to Texas.
So if people are feeling them, as you say, daily, I guess the poor state is now ready for the final doom, plummeting into the Pacific. I'm glad I enjoyed you before your demise.

I usually felt one to two a day. Every once in awhile, we would go a whole day without one. Some may have just been aftershocks...I'm not a geologist! lol!

I'm not either, but from what you say, things have definitely changed over the years regarding felt quakes. Aftershocks follow the big ones so if what you felt was after a big one, they could have been such. I lived in southern CA. Was that your locale as well?
Texas has no worry about quakes. If it changes to otherwise, I'd call it prophecy.
