However, I have two questions for you. One, why do New Mexicans who don't speak Spanish speak with a Spanish accent? And two, why do Midwesterners sound so boring when they speak? I've never heard anything so bland and without character as a Kansas or Iowa accent.[/quote]

I talk funny because my mom is from Kansas & my dad is from Los Angeles. I was born in West Texas, hauled off to Southern California, uprooted again and plopped in NE Florida, moved to East Texas, moved back to Southern California after High School, then moved back to East Texas.

I got old, forgot where I was .... so I just mumble with a twang.

Texas Twang Chick is on a distinguished road
I was born and raised and still live in Texas. I live in town just out side of Houstan and I only have a bit of an acent. I am currently working to strengthen it. I love it when I travel and people can imediatly tell I from Texas. I love the way texas acents sound. It is music to my ears. My cousins from Michigan love to make me talk to hear my acent. It is always funny tuse people with it. Very fun.

No if you want to hear a accent talk to someone from Rhode island ;you'll think it a eaggerated New Jersey accent.Sometime had to understand at all.Bo9ston is easu compared to that one.I have a terrible time understandinh my neiece from clifornia she talks so fast with so many "like" and 'huh" in one sentence.

In a lot of the U.S. it's "you guys". It doesn't matter if women are there or not it's still "you guys".
