Wow, You are all so nice! I can't get over how friendly all your responses are. Thank you so much for all your suggestions, I have sent off for the travel guide and have also found a website where I could request re-locator guides. I have investigated all of those cities and feel that my husband and I are going to have a great time putting it all together come July. Praying for a good job for him, then we will find a place to live and then I will be back home to pack up and move on over. I will keep ya'll up-dated to how our job hunting and move is going. Once we get there and settled we will need help finding a good home church.
Thanks so much again!
Kristi

One more quick question, does anyone know of inexpensive rentals by the week? We need to find some place to call home for the 3 weeks we are in Dallas that isn't going to cost to much. Our budget is pretty tight and we need something that will take 2 shi-tzu dogs (under 20lbs) and 3 kids. 4yrs. 9 yrs. and 13yrs. I have priced motels and it is up in the $300.+ a week and vacation rentals 1250+ a week! My husband between looking for work will be working up in Van Alystne at a ranch. So we need to be semi close to that area.
Thank you!!!
Kristi

If he is going to be working in Dallas, but you want to live in a small town, check out Forney, Midlothian, Mansfield, or Cedar Hill. My wife and I would like to move to one of those towns. Small towns, but within easy commute of Dallas.

Look at Midlothian. They have 3 large cement plants a power generating plant and a steel mill there. There are tons of welding jobs in the area due to the maintanance need at just these facilities. Other towns close by would be Mansfield, Cedar Hill and Waxahachie. Best of luck.

If you're looking for friendly, West Texas people and some nicer scenery, you might check out San Angelo.

Moving to Texas?
Rockwall, TX. You didn't mention your price-range, but this area holds great appraisal rates. Taxes are a little higher, but some would agree it's worth it for the views. It's a town within a big city and oh-so-close to the beautiful Lake Ray Roberts if you like boating...and the conveniences of the city with a small-town atmosphere.
