Lightbulb Midland/Odessa

I think it would be awesome if Midland & Odessa could have a light-rail or subway connecting the two cities. Going to both downtowns to the International Airport, UTPB, Music City Mall, & a couple of neighborhoods

Plus I think It would be awesome if IH-27 from Amarillo to Lubbock could extend down to Midland/Odessa maybe going in between the cities close to the I-Airport or splitting off like IH-35 does for the metroplex. The Interstate should go all the way to Big Bend or close to it, I think that would be awesome.

I just want good things for my hometown's

I-27 should extend south through Big Spring, San Angelo and eventually intersect with I-10 in Junction. I could see turning Highway 349 from Midland to Lamesa into an I-227 merging with I-27 in Lamesa. Absolutely, a Interstate highway from M/O to Big Bend would be awesome.

Unfortunately, Amtrak through M/O will not happen due to the Texas Eagle; Amtrak's southern route that goes from DFW (actually originates in Chicago) to San Antonio then on to Los Angeles.

That would be a great idea too. I just think their should be better highways connecting the west texas & panhandle cities. It would make travel faster

^ I totally agree with you.

What may work is turning Hwy 385 into an interstate from Lubbock to Odessa, continue 385 south until it intersects with I-10 near Ft Stockton then make Hwy 67 from I-10 to Alpine into interstate. I like the thought of being able to take interstate highways all the way from Alpine to Amarillo.

The Alpine area would be messed up if an Interstate went through it. I don't mind at all if they extend I-27 from Lubbock to Odessa, but I hope they will stop there (or at least well north of Fort Davis!). Just my opinion.

I believe they're working on I-27 going from S. Texas (Del Rio, maybe?) to Alberta, CA.

I think a new bus route from each city to the airport would be nice. That would allow travel from one city to the other by changing buses at the airport and when traveling by air you could leave your car at home and just take the bus to the terminal.

I do like the idea of bringing I-27 down to Midland/Odessa.

I've often thought that I-27 should be extended down to Midland-Odessa or Big Spring. Either way, travel between West Texas and the Panhandle would be improved.

The last I heard, I-27 is supposed be extended through Big Spring to Eagle Pass. It will go past Amarillo and either connect to Raton or Denver.
