Meh

Just be happy we even have beaches here in Texas after all of the hurricanes. Galveston has cleaned up A LOT in the past 10-15 years with a ways to go, Corpus is still Texas' best kept secret, & Padre Island is a hot spot for Spring Breakers in the Central US.

I'll ditto what Metro Matt pointed out in regards to locations. I've always been a big believer in Galveston, but one place I haven't been to is one that I think you and I would like: South Padre Island.

TexasNick, what condos are those on the 4th photo down? They remind me of Bahia Mar with the round (porthole?) windows, but I don't see the little man-made running brooks through the property. It's been a few years since we were down, just trying to place this property. Thanks!

Never been to Florida myself.

I used to like Galveston better, cause South Padre had too much seaweed stuff. Now for some reason it has cleared up. South Padre is nice, especially when its not so hot (when is that?) like the winter time, fall and spring.

I'm from OKC though, so I say any beach is better than no beach.

I'd say padre which has like 125 miles of unspoiled beach is very nice but some of Floida are much pettier as far as water but geting pretty crowded now days. Many florida beaches which use to be no public access still have very limted acess.

there's not always weed in the water...

think of it sortve like flowers in bloom... sometimes it's heavy, sometimes there's none... etc etc, it happens all along the coast

Correct, not Bahia Mar. I do not remember the name, but they are located right in front of a tall white skyscraper condominiom. This is near the bridge.

Ah OK. Thought it looked like it might be further north up the beach than that. I'm heading down there Monday. Can't wait!

The Bahia Mar was hit pretty badly from the hurricane. They are currently getting reconstructed, both the main hotel and townhome/bungalos that are on property.

Well I hate to say it, but that place has been needing renovation for a while.
