We've never been an intellectual state? Another rampantly wrong stereotype. There are lots of smart people here. If we were not smart, we'd be as bad in the hole as a lot of other places are right now.

What arrogance!!

You have NO idea what Texas is like, and you're buying into the stereotypes BIG time. Many of us native Texans are really fed up with this, too! It usually doesn't bother me at all what outsiders think of Texas (true or not) unless they actually move to Texas.

If they come here with a good attitude, that's one thing--but quite a few of them don't, and I'd probably count you among those. Why don't you move to a state that you consider "intellectual?"

LOL!!!!

Did you know that your Macomb County Michigan voted 89.5% for Bush in '04, and several south Texas counties voted 74% for Kerry? In '08, Starr County TX voted 86% for Obama. Brooks County TX has never, in its history, gone Republican. That is the longest continuous run in the US of any county voting Democrat every election. You might like it in Falfurrias.

Come on down here to south Texas, you'll find plenty of liberals.
